of the existence of water,
the most convincing one,
the intimately true one,
is thirst"

aBuenos Aires will hold the next public hearing in 2010.

A committee from the Latin America Water Tribunal (LAWT), formed by its director, Javier Bogantes, and other representatives was in Buenos Aires, June 14th through June 23rd in order to settle strategic issues on the Tribunal´s next public hearing to be held in that city.

It is of the LAWT´s knowledge that Argentina is a country where water related problems do not only deal with scarcity (absence of water), but also with its distribution and quality. In a seminar scheduled by this NGO back in April 2007, civil organizations´ members in Argentina, exposed important water related problems, such as open pit mining and its impacts on Southamerican water bodies, the contamination of La Plata river basin, and the pulp mill case in Gualeguaychu.

The LAWT is an alternative environmental justice organization oriented to find solutions to several water related problems and conflicts in Latin America. This Court also serves as a scenario for the technical and scientific assessment and thorough examination of every case.
